Today’s
episode: A Rescue in the Rain
Hello and welcome to A2 News and Stories! I’m your host, George. Let’s begin!
Chloe Adams lives in a small town in the U.S.
One
day, her house started to flood.
The water was
cold and rising fast.
She had only a few minutes to decide what to
do.
She needed to save herself — and her dog,
Sandy.
Sandy is not young anymore.
She can’t swim,
and the water was too strong.
Chloe tried many things.
First, she used
Sandy’s bed — but it sank.
Then, she used a
big plastic container — but it started to sink
too.
Finally, Chloe had an idea.
She put a cushion
under the container to help it float.
Sandy stayed inside the
container.
They stayed on a rooftop for five hours,
waiting in the cold rain.
Chloe held Sandy in her
lap and put the container over her to keep her dry.
Later, Chloe’s uncle came with a kayak and rescued them.
Now, they are safe at her grandmother’s house.
Chloe says:
“We always help each other in
hard times.”
